With the rapid development of manufacturing both domestic and foreign of manufacturing and the increasing market competition, many small and medium-sized enterprises are confronting new business requirements such as profit increase, cost decrease, product value chain integration, and R&D cycle curtail. However, domestic small and medium-sized enterprises have many disadvantages including overlooking R&D, low efficiency and long period of product development, poor integration with market requirement, and lack of standard process management. So it's significant to develop a product lifecycle management oriented process management system which solves the above problems for the small and medium-sized enterprises. In view of the status quo of informationize and product lifecycle management in small and medium-sized enterprises and based on the requirement analysis of enterprise informationize, the architecture of process management system, the process modeling method and the three key technologies――project management, workflow management, engineering change management――are studied.The question of information islands of the enterprise informationize is analyzed.By the application of Web Service, the network architecture and the technology architecture of the SOA based process management system are established which give a solution to the integration of enterprise's hetero-platform application.The character of small and medium-sized enterprises'process is studied, the demand and character of the process modeling is brought forward. Based on the current studies of the multi-view model of the product development process supporting Concurrent Engineering, the extended multi-view model of the process supporting the product lifecycle management is established. The formalized definition of process management is built. With the UML modeling technology, both the static and dynamic modeling of process modeling is supported.The current studies of project management in the product lifecycle management are analyzed. The distributed architecture of project management is built. By questionnaire survey and customer service record analysis, the R&D information collection function is achieved. The scientific and normative evaluation of project is achieved through Analytic Hierarchical Process and Fuzzy Evaluation Process. Through Design Structur Matrix and Critical Path Method of Network Planning Technology,the project breakdown function, the project planning function and the project attemperment function are achieved; through the New-Gunter Draft the project's real-time distribute surveillance function is realized.Both the role of workflow management system in PLM and the types of workflow in product lifecycle are discussed. By the study of the workflow reference model of the Workflow Management Coalition, the PLM-oriented and SOA-based workflow management system architecture is bulit. Through the workflow modeling, workflow instantiation and pull-mode workflow engine, it is ensured that the right information can be transferred to the right person in the right time and form.
