As an emerging communication technology, ultra-wide bandwidth is drawing more and more attention for its merits such as large low mul -tipath interference, high capacity, good penetrability, high resolving power, good concealment and so on. Moreover, compared with the existing wireless communications such as Bluetooth, IEEE 802.11b and IEEE 802.15, UWB can provide higher transmission rate. Promoted by the military requirement and business market, UWB technology is evolving to maturity. In the UWB wireless communication system, time-hopping tech -nique plays a key role. According to the requirement of communication systems, time-hopping sequences must have good correlation perfor -mance, that is, good auto-correlation and cross-correlation properties. Finishing study of knowledge on UWB and sequence, this paper makes UWB system model, simulates the UWB system of three cubic time-hopping sequences, and analyzes the performance of UWB system, basing on others' performance research of three cubic time-hopping sequences. The simulation and theory research show the same results, which is benefit for the use of cubic time-hopping sequence in UWB.At the same time, based on the three cubic time-hoping sequences, two different modulation schemes, the time-hopping pulse position modulation (TH-PPM) scheme and the time-hopping Pulse Amplitude Modulation (TH-PAM) scheme are simulated with MATLAB to analyze and compare the performances of the time-hopping UWB systems employing these three cubic time-hopping sequences. The obtained simulation results show that for the same modulation scheme, the general cubic time hopping sequence has the best performances. Finally, this paper analyzes the performance elements of UWB system, whose most important element which effects the performance of UWB system is MUI. The time-hopping sequences is the key element of interfering...
