Collaborative Design can effectively support team cooperation in different fields and different regions. It greatly improves the efficiency of product design, and becomes a hot topic. Collaborative Design environment is involved in the design, simulation, network technology, information technology, artificial intelligence technology and many other fields. This complex system requires strong ability of computing, storage, sharing and interactive operation. Grid creates new opportunity for the development of collaborative design.Grid is a group of new technologies building on the Internet, which uses high-speed networks to integrate supercomputers, large databases, archival storage devices, advanced visualization devices. It shares resources among number of virtual organizations and collaboratively solve problems, and provide more resources, function and interaction. The characteristics and ability of grid meet the needs of the collaborative design. Grid-based Collaborative Design has just begun. Research on key technologies for it has important theoretical and application value.This paper researches on some key technologies for Grid-based Collaborative Design. The main contests of the thesis are as followings:(1) A C/GS mode framework for Grid-based Collaborative Design System is proposed. The framework uses grid ability to optimize enterprise's resource allocation and use them rationally. It meets the needs of collaborative design system which is complex. According to the functional requirements, server components of system and technical route are defined.(2) According to using long time to modeling complex part, this paper points out that operate drafting with other operation in parallel is the key to improving design efficiency. Parameters, based on the history of feature-based modeling and other related technologies are discussed and used. The framework of fine-grained synchronization collaborative modeling system is designed. A detail explanation of key technologies and implementation method of client-end and server-end programs is given.(3) According to the network transmission and three-dimensional collaborative modeling characteristics, communication data of system is classified and selectively transmitted. Using operational semantics transmission alternative data of the model transmission, reduced the burden on the network, enhanced real-time performance of the system.
