The Design And Realization Of Student Management System STMS

The work of student management is the most tired one in the university, most of universities have been still at the stage of manual at present, the work is loaded and lack of efficiency. With the fact of domestic, most of student management systems are based on the structure of the C/S (client terminal/server). This kind of system can't really play accurate,rapid role, because it is too centralized and limited by geographical scope. The system has some limiations, it was unable to meetthe specific situation of universities. Now there are fewer softwares which are based on campus network. So it is necessary to develop a new system of student management.This paper has designed and developed the system of student management for Inner Mongolia University for the Nationalities basing on the foundation of analyzing all kinds of demands and exsiting softwares.The main work and results included in this paper are as follows:Firstly, We synthesize realities and resources of our university to complete a network structure design on the basis of analyzing and summarizing the requirements of each department. This system is lower investment and more functions, and high ratio of performance and price. Using the structure based on B/S(browser and serve) pattern, we design the functional modules and network node through being connected college network with each department. This opened structure is able to provide maneuverability, expansibility and scalability.Secondly, we choose Windows OS which is used extensively at present for servers. Cosidering the compatibility and stability of the system, we use Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database as backstage net service database. To realize inter-communication between server and end-users, and provide inter-service of database, we choose dynamic web-page technology based on ASP to realize the concrete operation function of web data.Thirdly, through the process of demand analyzing, to make sure of the function and operation about the system management, profession information management, class information management, student information management and score management and satisfy the demand of system, we achieve the goal of quick searching and counting of the student information, and make it convenient to the management of student. Through analyzing, we make sure of the system user chart, the student information chart, the class information chart, the course information chart, the student score chart and so on.Forthly,established the system, we take a test about it carefully. Base on the network of Inner Mongolia University for the Nationalities, we release the database and website to the network server. The mainly things are that to test the function of model and database. Through the above test results, it is showed that the system is able to achieve all kinds of demands of each functional module and is in motion normally.The fundamental functions of this system are able to make the manager to browse, safeguard and manage the student information, and inquire the student information by the single or compound conditions. This system is also able to provide the clients with the functions of printing, all kinds of content can be printed if you want to print. The safe managment of many clients'data guarantees the data of each section to be safe and perfect. Without the professional members the user of this system will be conducted to set his limits of authority and the operation are simple.The characters of the system are as follow: The design of this system is mature and suitable to the modern university of student management. This system adopts the currently maturetechnology and method to achieve the management of students.The interface of this system is friendly. It is visual and lively, and the language is concise too. When you use it, you will find it performs more effectively, and its interface is institutional, and it can be operated easily.The system is universal. The foundational parts of the system are simple and easy to adjust; the user can alter in great range according to the practical conditions. It is given a large space to improve and instead in the future and used in other colleges if it is adjusted a bit.The practice of using this system for one year shows that the student information management system described by this paper can be widely used with the features of reasonable structure. The operation of this system is easy and the code is simiple. The database operation of it is celerity and precision. Consequently it can be widely used in practice, and it is valuable to colleges of our country and to the design of student information management system for minority'suniversities especially.
