Since the 70s last century, the first generation of the low-consuming fiber was invented successfully. Fiber technique had been applied in many areas such as communication and the sensor Optics. It has been developing quickly. And with the naissance of the fiber grating, it is possible that we can achieve the complicated fiber communication and the sensor nets. It means that we can totally enlarge the field which the fiber technique is applied in. So the FBG (Fiber Bragg Grating) is really another new major innovation since the Mix-Erbium optic amplifier was invented. And these days FBG has become the fastest developing and most representative passive optic component. As far as concerned it is mainly used in the fiber communication and fiber sensor field.The article introduces the FBG application in the fiber sensor field and states the principle and related basic knowledge of fiber sensor. We introduce the basic parameter and the formulas in details and resenting the theory base of its function in the fiber sensor system.λB, which is the Bragg center reflection wavelength and the most significant parameter of FBG, is used to code with not being affected by the fluctuation of the source, the bending loss, the connection loss, and the aging loss of detector etc. In the thesis we also focus on the demodulation methods, we explain several methods which are in common use. And choose the F-P (Fabry-Perot) filter way to demodulate the signals in our system.These days FBG (Fiber Bragg Grating) can be produced in a small No dimensions by the mature craftwork. At the same time the heat point of researching is turned into the areas like high precision, consummating the demodulation, wavelength division multiplexing Tech and how to cut down the primitive cost. The theory research has made a huge progress, but there are still some problems need to be handled in the practical use. In the domestic range, FBG sensor is not well used in the projects, some defects like inconvenient to schlep and be updated, high price, they all restrict broad use of FBG.So we designed a FBG sensor system which is based on the ARM platform. It has many advantages compared to the used Single chip demodulation systems. Basing on ARM platform has many merits : First, high process capability improve the signal demodulation's precision and speed; Second abundant interfaces make the demodulation system has a good man-machine interface such as LCD display, keyboard input. Third, decreases the system's cost because ARM integrates many components.In the article, we introduce the exact design of this FBG sensor system, display every part of the system including the software and the hardware. This temperature sensor system has the break through in the demodulation and overcomes the relying of the spectrum instruments. It is also proved that it is feasible in the division multiplexing. In the experiment we have tested the temperature sensor characteristic, and after analyzing the data we got, we made the conclusion that the design can work as we expect. In the end we conclude the design , bring out some shortcomings during the whole process, and prospect the future progress and work in this FBG sensor field.
