The Research And Design Of Home Gateway Based On IPv6

It's well known with the rapid development of the Internet. Abundance of resources in the Internet intensively attracts users. The embedded Internet technology enable equipments access the Internet through embedded module rather than PC systems .Promoted by embedded Internet technology, network appliance and information appliance developed quickly, which makes the refrigerator, air-condition, television and other appliances network, construct the intelligent home in people's ideal. The IPv6 appearance makes this ideal come to reality more quickly. IPv6 address can assign an IP address for any device on the earth. This large address space solves the bottleneck on constructing intelligent home caused by the short of IPv4 address. Supervening problem of network security is attached importance.This paper from simply introduced the TCP/IP protocol obtained, summarized the IPv6 appeared history and the characteristic and the address method, and introduced some methods of accessing to IPv6 network. IPSec architecture is briefly introduced, including some basic concepts, for example, security policy, security association, selector, and components of IPSec architecture such as SPD, SAD, AH, ESP and IKE, etc. The processing of IPSec is explained in detail, and its merits are summarized. It has proposed the design methods of realizing VPN security gateway based on IPSec protocol and Linux. It analyzed the mechanisms of Linux Netfilter and the principle of iptables&ip6tables, and then designed the dual-stack firewall based on transition period.The home gateway used the 32bit embedded MCU, S3C4510 as the hardware platform, and used 6WIND management platform as the software platform. After simply introduced the 6WIND platform, it carried to the detailed design and the realization to IPSec and the firewall integration. In the end, the thesis has made some systems tests to the IPSec VPN and firewall, and then analyzed the test result.
