It is a tendency to become a specialization and intelligentization and miniaturization, for all kinds of information electrical appliances and network equipments and instruments and so on. It is very significant to design embedded video communication system and to apply Linux operating system to the electrical appliances, mobile communication equipment domain, which is a research hot spot and a focus nowadays. And it has become one of IT industry development mainstream directions.In this dissertation, the work mainly includes three aspects: the kernel analysis of embedded uClinux operaing system, design of embedded video capture system based on ARM, the distortion modeling and error control methods during video transmission. Firstly the author introduces memory management and kernel framework of uClinux operating system and its file system, and then transplants uClinux operating system in ADSP-BF533 EZ-KIT board. Secondly a novel video capture system based on ARM is designed, which is able to implement the capture of color and grey images. Finally, the author models the factors of the end-to-end delay and packet loss during video transmission, furthermore reviews and summarizes all kinds of error control methods.
