With the advanced theory and technology of Manufacturing Execution System(MES) coming into China, manufacturing enterprises have been taking great interest in carrying MES to effect. Some enterprises of high automation acted as field leader, putting big money into MES project implementation. Others have been also preparing for MES by continuously improving their competence. However, as to our country, we have just commenced the construction of MES. What is a really successful MES? This is an unsolved question to our MES product developer till now. Most domestic MES product only partially implemented the functions described in S95 document, especially in the function about data integration.The research is based on QingDao Tobacco Factory MES project (QY_MES for short). The author designed a data integration subsystem for MES communicating with other systems, which made MES conform to S95's demand that MES can exchange data with others by itself.There are two First Case in this research:? QY_MES is the First MES that strictly complied with S95 in tobacco field in homeland.? The SIMATIC IT technology developed by Siemens is the First time to be applied to Chinese project.The author had ever encountered several difficulties and puzzles through the duration of research, e.g. how to make the SIMATIC IT Components be in perfect cooperation with many other business systems and implement the data flowing smoothly? Those problems were solved by carrying on the research through five procedures: requirement, analyze, design, implementation and real running. The thesis explored the circumstances about QY_MES and the features of SIMATIC IT, analyzed the requirements of data exchange between MES and external systems, took SIMATIC IT DIS (Data Integration Service) as the message center and took SIMATIC IT PM (Production Modeler) as the intelligence service organ, used VisualStudio.NET as secondary developing platform, and adopted XML as the preferred data format, then implemented three main functions:(1) The system can connect itself with all the external systems and the other components of MES. Then it makes each business system in QingDao Tobacco Factory have a channel to others.(2) The system gets the diverse data (different source, different format, etc.) together, forming an only resource library, which supplies the enterprise with data accessing freely.(3) The system is able to operate messages in a quite efficient way. With this character, the system solved the problem of data isomer, having the data exchange in the enterprise fluent.Presently, the subsystem has been put into use, and achieved the expectations. This research provided a MES platform SIMATIC IT that completely conformed to the international MES standard for the manufacturing enterprises. S95 as a standard is designed neither for a very industry, not for a certain factory; it is of universality. So SIMATIC IT, which combined with S95 perfectly, can be applied to diverse industry, e.g. tobacco, food drink, chemical, car, electron, etc. According to each industry characters, enterprises can make their own solution based on SIMATIC IT. The thesis, choosing the MES based on SIMATIC IT as the research object, is of promotion to the progress of our manufacturing infomationization.
