Abstract/Summary:
Due to many advantages and application of the photonic band gap (PBG) photonic crystal fiber (PCF), and the larger problem of studying and fabrication in the world. So we do some research in theory which will be attribute to the experiments.In order to obtain larger absolute photonic band gap in two-dimensional structures, we should reduce the symmetry of the lattice seriously. Therefore, the defect mode of the air-core was induced. According to the Maxell's theory of electromagnetic wave, the band gap was simulated which based on the plane waves expansion method (PWM). By varying thediameters of cladding holes to pitch of holes ratio (d/A), air fillingfractions (Fill) and the host refractive index value, large band gap PCF was achieved. Simulated the capability of light guiding by beam propagation method (BPM). The high performance of light guiding and big absolutePBG-PCF was made while the parameters of d/A, Fill and Re-index was 0.75, 0.7, 1.45, respectively.
