Automatic control of production process is called process control, which plays a very important role in industrial production. The quality of process control depends much on process control instrument that is consisted of sensors, regulators, actuators and other assistant control devices. To a certain extent, the control quality of process is determined by actuators. The angle valve which discussed in this paper is one kind of actuators. And it should be developed along with the development of process control to meet the demand of present production. The paper is mainly about developing and debugging of a PIC controller for angle valves. The reference input of the valve opening is acquired from host computer while the actual value is acquired by the feedback system. Then calculate the warp between the reference input and the actual value. As far as the controller is concerned, PD algorithm with dead-zone is adopted. After computing the deviation of the two values, the control signal is output to control the electric motor. In this way the valve opening is adjusted. The main contributions of this paper are as follows: hardware design section and software design section.(1) Design the circuit board and make PCB chart for it. Debugging hardware modules, including data collection module, data storage module, electromotor control module, communication module, displaying module, etc. Due to the high degree of accuracy is required which should below 0.05°, the A/D component and EEPROM component are 12 bit chip.(2) The software design of the system is accomplished in assembly language. The serial communication program of the host computer is developed with VC++6.0.
