With the unceasingly increase of XML data exchanging amount among web application, how to store XML file and data exchanging technology reliably and efficiently between XML and database is becoming more and more important. Index, storage and inquiry of relational database can be used if we store XML data into relational database. But many complicated problems appear in the process of storage because of the unmatching between the complicated hierachical structure of XML data and the flat structure of relational database.Beginning from the above applied background, the paper firstly analyzes the advantage and disadvantage of related technology and instrument of XML data storage abroad and domestic at present, studies the related theory and technology, provides the method to map XML schema as relational pattern. In the process of mapping, the paper analyzes all kinds of assembly among XML schema, finds out semantic restricted information included in XML schema, based on technology of relational database, gets the method to maintain substance and reference intactness and value restriction from the angle of pattern transformation and to reduce the data redundancy, explicitly introduces the mapping algorism, and lays the foundation for storage of XML data. Then fully considers the hierachical and ordered nature, makes the further research on keeping file order to realize the effective storage of XML data in relational schema. At last, based on the above theory, analysis tries to set up prototype system. Experiment shows that it gets the good result for XML file. Furthermore, this method does not rely on the specific operate system and platform of relational database to support the standard of schema pattern and applies very widely.
