Global Positioning System( GPS) is a very strong space satellite positioning system, whick is developed by the United States' armed forces.Although the initial stage of the construction is to proceed from some military purposes, the GPS has already entered into the building of the national economy and social development more and more.The GPS used in the automobile rose in the beginning of 90's .Currently, the quantity of United States and Japan installing the GPS is very huge, but the market of GPS in our country is still in the development period. According to the experts,the GPS market will be very considerable.So considering the market demand, we have done beneficial trial in the GPS information collecting and delivering,and put forward a very inspire way of solving the problem, and then develop the Vehicle Location System based on SMS,which has the independent property right.Its actual application is very extensive. The workflow can be divided into several steps.Firstly running the program which has been written into the MCU,then AT89C2051 MCU receives the requests from the cellphone,which is encapsulation as the SMS,after that it transmits the requests to the control module.The control module changes the SMS requests into the orders which can be identified by GPS module,and then transmits the orders through communication module to the GPS module.After that the communication module can receives the information from GPS module,and transmits it to the control module.The information will be changed into SMS and then transmits to cellphone.The whole process is continuous and parellel.This text mainly have finished communication program design and development of Vehicle Location System.Because of that the UART of the MCU itself can not satisfy the system's request, the writer has designed a set of scheme,which use the normal I/0 to simulate the UART.
