Network Simulative Technology And Designing With OPNET

As network's application is becoming wider and wider, the network's size is also becoming bigger and bigger. How to design an excellence network and make the network be satisfied by clients with lower investment is a most important task to network engineers.The traditional ways of designing network mainly depend on experience. However when we use these ways to design complicated networks, we often don't know how to design because we don't know where is the key place. The ways that simply depend on experience to design networks can't keep up with the developmental step of Internet. So, we urgently need scientific ways to design networks. Fortunately, the OPNET software can solve these problems wisely.Through introducing the traditional ways of designing network, this paper uses a new way (the Top-Down network designing way) to design network and shows the advantages of this way through simulating with OPNET. Then through using stochastic model, we make an accurate model which about the service of the network and use it to the simulative network model. At last, we improve the performance of the network and design an excellence campus network with OPNET. The last part, the paper discussed the foreground of how to use OPNET to simulate and design network.
