In this paper, a passive acoustic direction system based on vector sensor for underwater targets is proposed. The system can be fit on the top of carrier, lead the carrier to track underwater target and hit it. And several key technologies are studied both theoretically and practically.The background of the research, application and the present state of the research work are presented respectively. The method that take the use of the combined information of the pressure and particle velocity of the target acoustic field is the main focus of the thesis. Relative theory, computer simulation and experiment in the water pool and reservoir are also carried out. For the further study, the passive acoustic target direction of the underwater model is established. Optimize the software and hardware debugging, then carry out system debugging of software and hardware. The experiment result is carefully discussed. The experiment, carried out on the water pool and the reservoir, shows that the signal processing system and the control system has a high capability of passive acoustic direction. The result of the research provides academic dependence for engineering application and shows that the system has a high probability of success on passive acoustic direction.The research result is practically useful for the underwater acoustic countermeasure technology, which can be applied on the acoustic target direction in the water. The probability of successfully hitting the underwater target can be improved by this system. The research is also valuable for the engineering application.
