Research And Integration Of CA/DRM System Focused On IPTV Platform

Conditional Access/Digital Right Management system is an important part of IPTV solution. Integrating Conditional Access/Digital Right Management system on IPTV platform can protect the interests of IPTV content providers and is also a precondition of implementing its industrialization. The architecture of IPTV, the software architecture of IP Set Top Box as well as its basic business flow are introduced in this paper, and the basic theories of Digital Right Management focused on IPTV are presented, then the basic theories and architecture of DVB Conditional Access System is given. The main results in this paper are as follow: firstly, the head end and client end components of Irdeto's CA/DRM solution focused on IPTV platform as well as its scrambling to audio and video streams are introduced. Then its descrambling to IPTV's two basic business: Video On Demand play and Broadcast TV play are analysed. Finally, by integrating its client component Softcell into IPTV's client Equipment IP Set Top Box, descrambling of IP TV's VOD and BTV play is implemented.
