Research And Implementation On OAI Data Resources Integration System Of Digital Library

Currently, there are many ways to integrate digital resources; one important method is protocol and standards integration. This paper mainly studies on the integration retrieval of databases which support the OAI protocol. The protocol is a new technology in recent years which has caused widespread attention, and many foreign databases support it. It's practical and meaningful to do researches on this protocol for the construction of our domestic digital library.The main contribution of this paper is as follows:(1) After a deep study of the OAI protocol, provide its technical framework (including Data Provider, Service Provider, and Metadata Harvesting Protocol), design OAI Data Resources Integration System of Digital Library in the laboratory's digital library construction project for a university in Hebei province.(2) Use XML and Connection Pool technology to realize the metadata harvest, and conduct a deep research on the harvest configuration (like Data Provider configuration, scheduler configuration).(3)Based on the above, use Web Service technology and present the structure and model of integrated search service. Deploy the system's searching function as a service for senior application use. This service can help digital library build a unified searching platform, which realizes the integrated search of databases supporting various protocol standards with the same search interface to achieve the objective of digital resources integration.The practical testing result of the system has proved the system's high effectivity and reliability, so it has broad application prospects and high value.
