In the wireless sensor networks, the MAC protocols decide the using of wireless channel, distribute the limited resource of wireless communication to the sensor nodes, form the infrastructure of the wireless sensor networks system. The MAC protocol of wireless sensor networks, which influence the performances of the whole network, is one of the main technologies which ensure the communications of the wireless sensor networks success. The function of the single node in the wireless sensor networks, which is data-centric computer network, is powerless and the power performance of the whole networks must perform by the throng nodes in the wireless sensor networks. To design a good MAC protocol for the wireless sensor networks, we have considered the following attributes: (1) The first is the energy efficiency. Sensor nodes are likely to be battery powered, and it is often very difficult to change or recharge batteries for these nodes. In order to prolong network lifetime for those nodes, energy saving is a critical issue when the MAC can ensure the applications of the wireless sensor networks.(2) Another important attribute is the scalability to the change in network size, node density and topology. Some nodes may die over time; some new nodes may join later; some nodes may move to different locations. The network topology changes over time as well due to many reasons. A good MAC protocol should easily accommodate such network changes. (3) The last important attributes include fairness, latency, throughout and bandwidth utilization. The common application of the wireless sensor network is environmental monitoring or data collection and detection. Based on IEEE 802.11 DCF protocol, This paper proposes AERAID-MAC, an Adaptive Exigency Report and Interest Demand Protocol for wireless sensor network . In this protocol , by stablishing a level tree with the root of sink node, driving by the events of Exigency Report and Interest Demand , restoring the broken chain by self adaption, data integration in the data sources, channel booking ,sleeping with cycle , It obtains significant energy savings, at the same time, great delay reducings. The Software simulation of opnet shows that its various performances are better than the same protocol such as s-mac.The main energy-saving technique in AERAID-MAC is setting the radio to sleep...
