Distributed Library Management System Based On Agent

With the development of the information society and the actual demand of our school library, a modern library management system is very necessary for the Teacher's Advanced Studies School of Zhalantun Inner Mongolia.In this paper we analyzed the current development and existent problem of library management system, and developed an intelligent and distributed library management system based on the current research hotspot in Distributed Artificial Intelligence-Agent theory technology. We made an overall requirement analysis to the workflows of the library, and then designed the Data Flow Diagram for each function module and the database structure for the library management system. Aiming at each layer module of the management system, An Agent's multi-layer structure model was set up. In the same time, according to the analysis to the inner structure of the Agent, we build an intelligent distributed library management system model based on multi-Agent system. At last we designed the circulation module in detail and implemented it. We accomplished the communication and cooperation between Agents intelligently and efficiently based on the multi-Agent system application platform JADE (the Java Agent Development Framework) that is used widely currently. Through the introduction of the Agent technology into the library management system, we improved the performance of the system, and made it show some characteristics of autonomy, reactivity, interactivity and adaptability. In all, the distributed library management system based on the JADE platform show its superiority and also provided a new way for the exploitation of the distributed management system.
