In this dissertation, LD power of EDFA, LiNbO3 electro-optic modulator, the signal modulation format as well as the optical pulse compression techniques are studied experimentally and theoretically, which include:1. R&D of LD power Based on analog circuits, a LD power with a new constant current source design is introduced, which includes two transistors in series that can be adjusted as a whole. The damage to the expensive LD caused by the sudden invalidation of one transistor can be avoided, thus saving the complex high speed protection circuit.2. Multiplex output power of steady voltage For the requirement of our laboratory, for the experiment of regeneratively mode-locked fiber laser and the LiNbO3 electro-optic modulator, We design and develop a multiplex output power of steady voltage, which achieve 11 steady, adjustable and micro-adjustable voltage output.3. The generation of the 20 GHz seed optical pulse Based on the research and analysis of the generation theory and transmission performance of nonreturn-to-zero(NRZ), return-to-zero(RZ) and carried-suppressed return-to-zero(CS-RZ). make conclusion that the CS-RZ is more fit for the 40GBit/s system. Obtain 20GHz seed optical pulse directly by using 10GHz LiNbO3 electro-optic modulator which worked in zero offset. Because the stability of the 20GHz seed optical pulse and the effect of adiabatic soliton compression(ASC) directly affect the quality of the signal. And in deep degree determine the quality of the WDM solition source obtained by super-continuum. We use the method of stabilizing the offset work-point and the offset voltage of modulator to improve the stability of the optical pulse.4. The theory analysis and research of the optical pulse compression techniques Aadiabatic soliton compression(ASC) in dispersion decreasing fiber(DDF) and low-erbium-doped fiber amplifier (LEDFA) are discussed, and analysis of the impact from fiber parameters(dispersion profile, fiber length, loss, GVD) and input parameters(power, width, wavelength, shape) is made through numerical simulation. For LEDFA scheme, when TFWHM=10ps, fiber length=24.12km, achieve the result of 2.89 of power proportion and 2.22 of width proportion. In...
