Electromagnetic Tomography (EMT) technology, which based on the principle of electromagnetic induction, is a novel and underdeveloped technique in the family of electrical process tomography. The sensor of EMT system has the advantages of non-invasive, non-contacting and non-hazardous. So it can be used in fields of industrial multi-phase flow measurement, chemical abstraction, foreign material monitoring, geologic exploration and biomedical research. However, great challenges come forth because of the complexity of EMT, which including the theoretical solution of its forward and inverse problem, the development of effective excitation system, data acquisition system and so on.In this paper, the author studied the fundamentals of EMT in detail, and analyzed the parallel excitation field mode. Finally, the reconstruction images are discussed according to the simulation result, the research works of this dissertation are as follows:1. The development of Processing Tomography and Electromagnetic Tomography technology were studied.2. The basis of Electromagnetic Tomography technology was studied, according to the simulation results of Radon Transform and inverse radon transform, some images were studied.3. For understanding the characteristics of'soft field'deeply and optimizing the sensor structure, Electromagnetic Tomography system's sensitivity matrix is simulated by using the finite element simulation software Ansys.4. Because the forward problem is the foundation of the image reconstruction algorithm, the author developed a EMT sensitivity analyze software by using of Ansys script language and VC++. The analyze software is a useful tool for research the image reconstruction algorithm.5. The LBP image reconstruction algorithm was used in the simulation system, simulation result shows the research work is effective.
