Electrical Impedance Tomography is a new technology growing these years. EIT can detect the pathological changes even if the changes of the biological function have not emerged. The technology is one of the important research subjects of the international biomedical engineering, which has a widespread prospect.The dissertation shows the theory and application of EIT first, giving the model of the EIT system and detailing each module of the data collecting circuit. The emphasis of the dissertation is software realization of the EIT. On the basis of the FEM and the electromagnetic theories, the dissertation gives the model of the object, meshes the region imaged, and analyzes the forward problem and the inverse problem. With the help of MATLAB, the measured data can be reconstructed with Newton algorithm. Then, the result of emulation can be obtained. The result shows that the Newton algorithm reconstructions the image of the resistance divided successfully and that with the modified Newton algorithm and the Newton iterative algorithm, the quality of the images can be improved obviously.
