Research On Image Measurement Technology Based On USB Camera

Image measurement technology is a newly developing measurement method in recent years. The technology, which are used to construct image measurement experiment platforms based on USB camera, are present in this paper.The experiment platform, which is designed to use common USB camera as image sensor, is low cost while its performance is reliable and could meet what the normal image measurement experiments need. By using VFW technology, the real time video sequence capturing and processing are implemented on PC , which is designed as the system processor.According to the special task of this system, based on the other people's research, the algorithm of camera calibration is introduced and implemented to fit for the need the experiment platform.The image processing is the emphasis of this discussion. In this paper , the currently typical algorithm of image process are introduced and analyzed .In order to improve the quality of image and the real time processing performance of system, a fast algorithm of medium filtering is adopted. The technology of image segmentation based on color threshold greatly improve the suitability and reliability of this system. Simultaneously,a new method of calculating hue is proposed ,which improve computing speed vastly. Using Kalman filter to predict the discipline of objective dramatically bring down the amount of image data and raise the real time processing performance of system.The reliability and practicability are proved by experience.
