Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) position servo system is widely used in some fields of high precision and high performance, such as numerical control tools and industrial robots and so on. As the exclusive advantages of PMSM and the good performance in static and transient state of position servo system, at this paper the vector control theory of PMSM and the design of PMSM position servo system are deeply analyzed. And the industrial application of PMSM position servo system in the technique for three-dimensional field and magnetic force measurement.At first, the mathematics model of PMSM, equivalent circuits and its vector control method are deeply analyzed, and the vector control method (i_d = 0) of PMSM and PWM current control method are presented too. Based on the vector control method (i_d = 0) of PMSM and PWM current control method, the simulation analysisfor PMSM position servo system is deeply discussed. Hysteresis-band current-control scheme of PMSM position servo system based on vector control is analyzed deeply. For the sake of high-performance current-loop in position servo system, General hysteresis-band current-control and triangular carrier wave hysteresis-band current-control is studied in the paper. The simulation results indicate that general hysteresis-band current-control will seriously influence on performance of system, and triangular carrier wave hysteresis-band current-control can be used for good control performance.In the paper, the three loops of position servo system are analyzed and designed based on PMSM's decoupling state equations. And the variable structure control method is used in the design of velocity loop and position loop, with the cascaded variable structure control, the position servo system is good fastness and no over-shoot, and the precision and robustness of system are improved. When carrier wave hysteresis-band current-control and variable structure control scheme was used, the simulation results demonstrate that the system has the advantages of rapid response and no over-shoot and has stronger robustness to change of system parameters and the disturbance of load.In the paper, motion control card is used as the upper controller of PMSM position servo system, this is "PC-BASED" motion control system.
