The performance tuning of the database is a complex work involved a lot of aspects.Since many complex attributions are also resulted in bad performance of the DB system, only comprehensive solutions other than a single and simple one can work. With the analysis pointed out above, we can draw a conclusion that in the real world, research about it can post great value to all the DB-based applications. Just because of it, this paper mainly discusses how to conquer the problem of bad performance DB system. Along the discussion, the experiences of the usage of a data warehouse from a bank will be given as the optional solutions to the discussed problems. In the beginning part, the steps the basic methods needed to tackle the problem of bad performance are described. Following that, the research goal and gaining are pointed out respectively. In the second part, some practical methods, tips and solutions are concluded after detailed analysis is done from two points of view, namely, the choice and design of the database architecture, and the performance of application. Then, focus on ways of improving the database performance optimization. In the process of optimizing the database partition architecture, a kind of advanced multi-partition database parallel architecture is involved. The research of optimizing query performance focus on SQL query sentences, and make a conclusion of a general method for optimizing query performance. As for parallel performance, a new resolution which resoloved the "Update lost" when the database runs in a low isolated level. In the final part, some data come from the test designed for comparison to the performance of DB system between the old one and the optimized one are listed. The result of the test shows that the concluded technologies can much improve the performance of the DB system. So the research gaining has great value in the real world.
