The more equipments and services are fixed on the train, the more information has to be transmitted. So, there has to be a high-capability and high-speed information transmission system to raise the level of controlling, monitoring and diagnosis. IEC released IEC61375-1 to standardize the data transmitting on the train in 1999. IEC61375-1 standardizes that Train Communication Network(TCN) encompasses two busses: Wire Train Bus (WTB) and Multifunction Vehicle Bus (MVB).However, IEC61375-1 defines the base communication mechanism of WTB and MVB only. It doesn't define the content of information or meaning of data from the view of application. Therefore, TCN can't work on the train which uses equipments supplied by different vendors. UIC556 protocol is the standard to implement this kind of mutual operation. After researching TCN and UIC556 standard protocol, this paper designs UIC556 gateway software which works in Nucleus Plus real-time multitask operation system.Firstly, this paper researches the IEC61375-1 and UIC556 protocol, analyzes the improvement on TCN by UIC556 protocol, especially the mapping relationship between them. Then it gives the design of UIC gateway software, and divides the UIC556 gateway into UIC Mapping Server (UMS), Process Data Marshalling (PDM), UIC inauguration and Node supervisor(NS) and so on. This paper implements all the child modules of UIC mapping server module.Secondly, according to the workflow of UIC mapping server, the paper divides the UIC mapping server into five child modules: UIC Agent, UIC WTB Bus Manager, UIC Train Bus Configurator, UIC Intelligent Multicast Server and NADI(Node Address and attribute Directory) and NADI&Group Server and implements all the function of the five child-modules on Nucleus PLUS operation system platform.Finally, this paper makes the conformance test and stability test to every child module in the lab. During the process of test, it firstly do the unit test for every child module, then integrates them and made a whole test. The result of the test indicates that the UIC mapping server module implemented in this paper meets the demand of UIC556 protocol.
