Designing And Implementing VPN Network Based On MPLS MAN

Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) provides the mechanisms to perform label switching, which is an innovative technique for high-performance packet forwarding. This paper provides an in-depth introduction of MPLS technology, including MPLS theory and configuration, network design issues, and case studies.With the introduction of Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), which combines the benefits of Layer 2 switching with Layer 3 routing and switching, it became possible to construct a technology that combines the benefits of an overlay VPN (such as security and isolation among customers) with the benefits of simplified routing that a peer-to-peer VPN implementation brings. The new technology, called MPLS/VPN, results in simpler customer routing and somewhat simpler service provider provisioning, and makes possible a number of topologies that are hard to implement in either the overlay or peer-to-peer VPN models. The security and traffic engineering is also introduced detailed in this paper,which is a important and excellent character for mpls vpn.At last, designing and implementing VPN network based on kunshan catv station mpls mentropoliton network is provided at the paper , after doing the test about MPLS VPN security and traffic engineering ,the result is accord to the need.
