In recent years, as network technology, geographic information systems technology and database technology is becoming mature, and gradually introduced in coal resources management, they will be sure to play an active role in increasing the data processing efficiency, ensuring availability and stability of the software system, enriching the management tools for coal resources and providing the basic information timely and accurately.Accordingly, the paper first introduced the status of the coal resources information management, analyze the research and application of software for management of coal resources home and abroad. The current problems and corresponding solutions done are researched in-depth.On this basis, in order to meet the needs of operational long-range management fot coal resources in land resources bureau of Tai'an city, the structure of this system of remote management systems, systems structure and the various components of the system have been described in detailed. According to the existing situation of coal resources management departments and separated distribution of coal enterprises, the model of long-range management based on B/S is brought forward to realizing the storage and sharing of long-range data. According to the lack of existing management systems against long-range graphics elements, the authors propose a system based on WEBGIS design ideas, and use graphic complaints, the coal resources management to achieve the required vector graphics documents enlarged, shrunk, roaming, ranging, such as functional attributes enquiries. This design ideas are demonstrated in form of network technology and GIS technology to enrich the coal resources management, which can represent the future orientations for management of mineral resources in the field of information technology.Finally, a concrete example of "distance-based WEBGIS coal resources management information system" is taken to panoramically display the research and realization of the system , through which can be seen that systematic research has made remarkableachievements and a good application effect.
