In the past years, with many advantages in smaller volume, lighter weight, thinner thickness, can curving, higher reliability, lower cost, etc., flexible printed circuit (FPC) wins the favor of more and more electronic designers and is widely applied to portable and other electronic products. The manufacture process of FPC is extremely complex. Based on the analysis for the electroplating working procedure, a key working procedure in the manufacture process of FPC, this paper systematically expounds the system structure, hardware and software design scheme for electricity monitor system of the FPC electroplating producing procedure in Sony Chemicals (Su Zhou) Co., Ltd, and analyzed certain essential questions and its solutions in detail during the research and development.The hardware sampling unit of the monitor system is constituted by the data gathering module, including digital input module and analog input module, which are connected by the RS-485 main line form. The digital input module is responsible to gather the massive switching signal outputted by sensors in the electroplating product line. The analog input module is responsible to gather the voltage signal outputted by electroplating electric current sampling circuit which is constituted by high accuracy electric current sensor and precise sampling resistance. Based on the analysis of input switching signal, the software unit of the monitor system tracks the producing process of the electroplating product line, then monitors the electric current signal which gathered in the electroplating cycle on each slot, and judges if there are electric current precision difference existing in the electroplating process, and output warning signal through acousto-optics alerting circuit and LED of hardware unit.The design and development of the monitor system adopt the virtual instrument technology which is applied widely in the field of the automated and the observing control in international scope nowadays. The virtual instrument technology abandoned the usage of the traditional instrument and enormously breaks the restriction of the traditional instrument in the aspect of data processing, display, transmission and storage, etc. It provides a simple, convenient dynamic display environment in a friendly way so that user can monitor the producing process very clearly.
