Nowadays, the traditional written examination for mechanical drawing is basically used to check the students' mastery of basic knowledge, the auto-detection of graph in which is always an urgent problem in the distance education of the engineering course. The development of this software system about the engineering graph is very important to promote the cultivation of persons with CAD ability, popularize and transform the CAD technology to productivity.To free the teachers from the heavy work of marking examination papers, the computer aided examination system for mechanical drawing is developed. With the application of the system, the examinee can get the result and the cause of errors immediately, which increase the transparence of examination and make the examinee know their mistakes to do better.In the system, Visual C++6.0 and ObjectARX are the main developing tools, AutoCAD 2002 is used as the software developing platform, graphics database, Ms SQL Server and object oriented technology are applied.The development of the software is being phased because the examination software of machine drawing is bloated. The former work is to design the key arithmetic of the drawing.The most researches are shown as following,(1) The System design of the software and development of UI.(2) line superposition: It is difficult to find out the problem of line superposition by manual checking in the drawing process, and this problem would disturb the right judgement by the system. This problem is solved commendably by defining three kinds of data structure .(3) section line: Section line is a key point in the drawing examination, in which complicated entity is filled, especially the selection of the close boundary is diverse. The correction of section is settled down by the classify-clone method.
