In the iron and steel enterprise information system, the MES(Manufacture Execution System) connects the Process Control System and Management Information System. The Iron & Steel MES usually communicates with the lower Process Control System and the upper ERP system. Besause of the difference of hardware and software platforms, maintaining the reliability is a very important work to do. All above shows that choosing an economical and effective communication framework is a problem to solve to the iron and steel enterprises.To solve the problem of effective communication of MES and Process Control System, ERP, upper and lower MES, this paper presented a general communication framework of Iron & Steel MES which based on message queue middleware, and design the BaoSteel Tube Plant Cold Area MES Communication System using this framework. This system solved the effective communication problem of Iron & Steel MES with other systems.First, this paper introduced the history, characters, application areas of middleware and the middleware technique criterion. After the analysis of common system integration model, this paper gave a Iron & Steel MES system integration framework based on MQ Series. Take the BaoSteel Tube Plant Cold Area MES as an example, emphasized the design of BaoSteel Tube Plant Cold Area MES Communication System architecture, includeing the design of the integration of MQ Series and Database, the time synchronization of servers, the MQ Series message formation and MQ Series object. After these, this paper introduced the realization technique of the BaoSteel Tube Plant Cold Area MES Communication System, including the data exchange of communication management layer and Database, communication receiving module, communication sending module, message processing module, message formation management module and the optimization of MQ Series communication.Since the application of this system, it has satisfied the requirement of the clients, relieved the work force, promoted the efficiency, revised the working lines.
