With the coming of post-PC era, the embedded system is widely used in our daily life, thus the requirement for interconnection with Internet gradually comes into being. It has become one of the important tendency for the development of the embedded system to realize the convenient and inexpensive exchange of information between the embedded system and Internet, which will become one of the necessary functions for the future embedded system.The embedded TCP/IP protocol stack is developed to resolve the problem of interconnection between the lowside MCU and Internet which is able to extend the range of application of the embedded system. On the baisis analysis of the embedded system, studying the backround of the embedded Internet, and the development within and outside the country, and the meaning of the research, by analyzing and studing the disadvantages of the forward embedded TCP/IP protocol stack, the way of embedded TCP/IP protocol to link up with Internet, the selection of hardware specifications, and this thesis advances a new project to solve the embedded TCP/IP protocol stack of 8 bit/16 bit micro-controller. According to the situation of the embedded system's hardware and software, the project seeks to satisfy the connection of domestic electronic appliance with Internet, and a balance is reached between the efficiency and the accuracy of the data communication. According to the basic requirement of the embedded system designation, that is to facethe special application and to consider the limited system resource, the interlink of the embedded system and Internet is achieved by cutting down and transplanting the normal TCP/IP protocol stack.In order to validate the feasible of the scheme, a prototype test is carried out in this thesis. The experiment result shows that the new embedded TCP/IP protocol stack has the characteristics of configurability, occupying of fewer system resources and well transplantation. It also shows that the embedded protocol stack can transfer data preferably and has certain practical value in realization of the domestic electrical appliance network.
