With the popularization and development of computer network, information security becomes one of the new research hotspots at present and attracts a lot of attention. Traditional cryptography method by software algorithm can not meet people's need on efficiency and security in information system. In many fields related to information security, people use Hardware Cryptographic System, such as cryptographic processor, cryptographic accelerator,smartcard or USB key, to provide high speed data operation and to improve the security of the whole system. Hardware Cryptographic System based on hardware equipment has become an important part of secure network platform.At the background of this development, this dissertation makes a complete research on Hardware Cryptographic System. With the analysis and concrete example on Hardware Cryptographic System, several plans are put forward to improve the performance of security,efficiency and service style.The main results in this dissertation are as follows:1. Analyzes the character of Hardware Cryptographic System and compares and contrasts it with Software Cryptographic System from the protection of keys,system integration,efficiency of data processing and physical security. Summarizes the security model of Hardware Cryptographic System and puts forward its basic mathematical model.2. Analyzes the authentication process of Hardware Cryptographic System.
