With The fast developing of Internet service, the transport network is needed to be more intelligent,more broad bandwidth,simpler node architecture,lower cost. So Multi-Granularity Switching Intelligent Optical Network comes. It becomes a new direction of optical network development;Because of the broad bandwidth of optical network, survivability is always the hot spot in researching of optical network. The thesis is focus on the researching and realization the survivability of Multi-Granularity Switching Intelligent Optical Network. It has the following achievement:Firstly, it sums up the developing status at home and abroad of the survivablity of Multi-Granularity Switching Intelligent Optical Network, and then introduces it in three aspects: ION,Multi-Granularity Switching technology and survivabilty.Then, the thesis analysis the recovery phases of Multi-Granularity Switching Intelligent Optical Network, which includes Failure detection, Failure localization, Failure notification, Failure Recovery. The differences between survivability in Multi-Granularity Switching Optical Network and in Single-Granularity Switching Optical Network are discussed. And then the realization of recovery phases in Multi-Granularity Switching Optical Network with GMPLS is discussed. The thesis has got the following achievement:(1)ConcIuded the principles of setting detectors in Multi-Granularity Switching Optical Network; and putting forwards the principles of estimating failure location and granularity according to the relationship of detectors in Multi-Granularity Switching Optical Network (2) Putting forward two failure recovery methods for waveband path failure based on Multi-Step failure notify method for Multi-Granularity Network. (3)Expanding the of format of objects in GMPLS for survivability in Multi-Granularity Network;Finally, three functions of survivability including waveband path failure recovery by waveband path, waveband path failure recovery by wavelength path, Link failure recovery were realized on Multi-Granularity Switching Optical platform. These had proved the feasibility of the researching.
