At present, the main networks of domestic naval vessels mostly adopt serial communication, while modernized wars in our information age ask for higher requirements of systems on naval ships. With the development of internet and computer technology, domestic naval ships firstly achieved networks reformation of campaign systems. The 1553B bus technology is widely used in campaign systems of internal naval ships. And the navigation systems usually adopt the RS-422 bus and communicate in a point-to-point way.In this paper, on the basis of XXX integrated navigation display and control console as the background., researches are made on the realization of a networked navigation system. Based on the characteristics and functional requirements of this XXX integrated navigation display and control console, some embedded programs, which are based on the VxWorks5.4 operating system, are designed and developed for the SED/CSD CAN card. As a result, the CAN bus ports of the navigation console system are extended and a simulation is also made to the navigation equipment with a SCM named C8051F040.In this paper, the field bus technology is introduced first of all. And then, the general situation and the developing direction of the navigation system are introduced .Furthermore, the key technology of CAN bus is introduced, the real-time character of CAN bus is analyzed theoretically ,and the Time Division Multiple Address is introduced. The navigation simulator made of SCM C8051F040, and extension to the CAN interface of the integrated navigation display and control console using SEM/CSD CAN card are introduced concretely.Finally, a series of experiments are made based on a CAN protocol according to actual conditions, the success of the experiment suggests that the CAN network...
