Nowadays, the development level of the industry automation has become one of the significant evidences for the level of the modernization of every walk of life. The control theory has gone through the following three stages: the classical control theory, the modern control theory, and the intellective control theory. Internal model control technique, developing during the past decades, has become mature and associated with the prior advanced art, and has been applied widely, meanwhile its reliability and stability has been proved during its applications.Because the SISO internal model controllers have been used successfully in many petrochemical industries, also in order to deal with the multivariable characteristic, the large time delays and the interactions, which are very popular in the devices of the chemical industries, such as the rectifying column, this thesis about the robust internal model control for the multivariable systems, is put forward.For the highly interacting 2I2O systems with delays, open loop diagonal feedforward decoupling principle and internal model control technique are employed here to design the controller, which is of many advanteges, such as...
