Power control and multi-user detection, as the key technologies of 3rd generation mobile system, is studied in this paper. However, it is an interference-limited system, and any reduction in interference can be directly converted into an increase in capacity. So, it is valuable to take some measures like power control to reduce interference for capacity improvement. With successive interference cancellation based on an order of distance, we can reduce more interference not only in its own cell but also other cells.First, the development of 3rd generation mobile systems and correlative key technologies is introduced here, specially power control including its principle, methods of realization and status of research; Then some discussion was made on multi-user detection model; Finally we do some further research on Successive Interference Cancellation (SIC) detector with equal SINR power control. The simulation is done and the result shows the proposed scheme has better performance and can compensate the channel fast fading quickly and exactly.
