| Since 1876,the America Worcester public library's chief librarian Samuel Swete Greed put forward the theory of the library reference service, the concept of reference service has been gradually planted in the area of library science along with the development of library service .In the 90s of 20th century, the progress of network technology, the development of digital information environment ,and the global upsurge of digital library's construction ,brought the new formation of reference service.The appearance of digital reference service made a great change on the reference service which of one hundred years history from the modality to content. It not only enriched the theory of library science, but also extended the field of library practice activity.As an important part of the digital library, the digital reference service is a key significance that embodies the level of the service ability in modern libraries. It has brought great attention in both theoretical and practical areas. Great achievement have been made in the aspect of theory research on DRS; and in the aspect of practice, it have been developed full of vitality in the public library and academic library both home and abroad. Digital reference services have become the brightness in the library's service.However, when we make a comprehensive view of digital reference services, there is a larger gap between of domestic and foreign presences in various aspects, including historical reasons and practical reasons. Although digital reference services has been developing in China these years, its centers have been built in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong and other developed areas, it is still developing slowly in many underdeveloped cities and the gap is obvious abroad. Taking Jilin Province for example, it hasn't owned a formal digital reference services project by now, I wish the system designed in my paper can provide a reference frame for building a perfect digital reference system in our province. |
