The Internet and World Wide Web are milestones in the history of information sharing. But Web pages'exponential growth and intrinsic characteristics prevent people from effectively and efficiently sharing information. In order to overcome the shortcomings, computer scientist are developing next generation web, with most research focusing on two approaches. The first approach is to improve the existing Web, which includes the semantic web, Web Service and web intelligence. The other approach aims to establish a new application platform independent of web: the grid. It brings new application constructing methods. The knowledge grid is an intelligent sustainable internet application environment that enables people or virtual roles to effectively capture, publish, share, and manage explicit knowledge resources. Soft-device is regard as the base unit of knowledge grid. Soft-devices are configurable like installing software. The concept inheritance is coming from biology and familiar for computer system constructors. It will be helpful to build complicated system with little repetitious works. The present paper proposes a dynamic inheritance mechanism among soft-devices. It is designed for distributed environment and overcomes the shortcoming of local inheritance mechanism.
