Motion control is an important branch of automatic control, and it has got extensive application because of its precise control for motion track and moving velocity. The common motion control system that is widely applied in nation is a kind of specialized and closed system. And the system cannot meet the requirements of high flexibility and low cost. Aiming at the problems on traditional motion control system, an opening system is designed and set up by using motion control card. The focus of the paper is the composition of the hardware structure and soft realization, and also the study of some keytechnologies of the motion control system.i The characteristics of opening motion control system are discussed in thepaper, and then the "Principle&Subordinate Design" based on Industrial-Computer and motion control card is finally adopted. The PCL-839 in the system is used as subordinate computer to realize the precise control of stepper motor. The system design provides a good opening framework for the whole system.The virtual instrument design soft LabWindows/CVI is used as the host computer application's platform for its function libraries. The application is compartmentalize based on the module program theory. Then the system was experimented with one-axis and two-axes.Pointing to the parameters input module, three parts are analyzed and experimented which is foundation of mathematics model, input of DXF-file and track-layout. B-spline is used to design the track and improve the system.The results show that the system meets the modern motion control system's requirement. Both the hardware system and the application soft of the system are opening for users, which improves the system maintainability. And the system can be upgraded easily to follow the development of industry. Last, several improvements are bring forward in the end of the paper for the follow-up work.
