There are rapid development and extensive applications of Diffraction Optical Elements in modern scientific and technical field, it takes great advantages which the traditional optics not has in optical waves transition. Application of diffractive optics technology in ICF diver, there are many projects need deal with based on the requirement of DOE. In this paper, we studied the optimizing design, fabrication of DOE and many related problem in its application.Based on the scalar diffractive theory and design of common Dammann grating, the new optimal methods were given, such as the aperture-coded phase grating, coordinate and phase modulation grating, random phase grating, they can obtain higher diffraction efficiency for laser beam shaping than general binary phase grating. Then, several different large-scale optimal methods were investigated. Compared the design results, the grating should be with high diffraction effective, simple structure and high tolerance level. In addition, a novel method was presented and studied to select and design the DOE.As to the fabrication, we introduced a novel manufacturing method for gray-scale masks based on spatial light modulator. Used the gelatin plate as the base material, the grating can be fabricated. This method is simple, cheap and the aberration in processing procedures can be eliminated in the one-step exposure.Finally, according to the requirement of DOE in ICF, the error model was...
