Mutually-injected fiber laser array is a sort of passive phase locking arrays. Thisarray becomes more and more attractive for the reason that it can export phase-lockedstates without any active phase correction. Nowadays, the experimental researches onthe mutually-injected fiber laser array are just focused on how to obtain a stable output. In order to enhance the understanding of the phase locking mechanism of this array, theemphasis of this article is centered on the mechanism of the passive phase locking. Thecontents of this dissertation are given as follows:1. The self-organized coherent combination technologies, especiallymutually-injected coherent combination technologies are researchedcomprehensively. Two main theories about mutually-injected fiber laser arrayare introduced.2. The experimental scheme which aims to study the phase-locked states of themutually-injected fiber laser array is designed in accordance with therequirements of the theoretical analysis. The different phase-locked states aremeasured successfully. The experimental results of the theoretical predictionsare numerically simulated. The output ports of the array of threemutually-injected fiber lasers are optimized according to the results of thenumerical simulation. Through the experimental research, it is found that thereare two phase-locked states with the array of two fiber lasers and there are fourphase-locked states with the array of three fiber lasers. In addition, the exportedinterference patterns are instable and changing from different phase-lockedstates. Through the research of the long-exposure patterns of the phase-lockedstates, it is found that the phase-locked states emerge with the same probabilityand the controlling is needed if we want to realize the coherent combinationwith mutually-injected fiber laser array.3. The controlling of the phase-locked states is realized after the self-feedbacktechnology is introduced. The two-and three-laser array are studiedexperimentally, the controlling of different phase-locked states is achievedthrough choosing the different feedback point. To describe the controllingeffect more intuitively, the long-exposure patterns and the spectrums of theexported beam powers are measured and it is found that the controlling of thephase-locked states has an obvious effect.
