Wavelet analysis is a newly developed theory, which has already been applied to many science research fields. Due to the development of Internet, In recent years, the digital watermarking technology and its application have become the emphasis of information hiding technology. Besides, the pretreatment of license plate image of vehicle is an important approach in license plate recognition. In this paper, wavelet analysis is applied to digital watermarking technology and the pretreatment of license plate image of vehicle and gets some good results.This paper consists of five chapters.In chapter 1,the author introduce the development of wavelet analysis, give the overview of digital watermarking technology and recognition of license plate of vehicle, then list the main conclusion of this thesis.In chapter 2,the author expatiates the basic knowledge of wavelet theory.In chapter 3, the author present an image watermarking algorithm based on DWT, this algorithm can against Random bend distortion very well.In chapter4, the author study image watermarking algorithm against large area cropping in DWT domain, a new watermarking algorithm against large area cropping distortion in DWT domain is proposed.In chapter 5, the author expatiate firstly the relative knowledge of ridgelet transform, then study the approach for reducing noise of license plate image based on ridgelet transform.
