The article aims at UPFC, bases on the imminent needing of raising power output in electric power system, and the agileness and controllable capability of UPFC, after analyzing the running principle and circuit configuration of UPFC, presents the control method of using Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) on UPFC. We also study the application of SVPWM in UPFC, and emulate it in MATLAB.Above all, the paper is based upon the working characteristic of inverter on UPFC, according to creation theory of SVPWM, imports the switch function, establishs the creation model of SVPWM. On the foundation of this, utilizing the complex trait of space voltage vector, aiming at the different representation of space voltage vector, we give the different SVPWM arithmetic steps. In the next place, the result of comparing SVPWM with SPWM is that, SVPWM is more excellent than SPWM at many aspects such as enhancing the utilization rate of voltage, harmonious restraint, reducing the wastage of controller and so on. Through analyse, it shows that SVPWM can satisty the control demand of UPFC. The paper researches the means of create SVPWM via TMS320LF2407DSP, according to the math model of inverter on UPFC and the creation process of SVPWM, constitutes the corresponding simulation model in SIMULINK, and validates them by MATLAB simulation system, gains ideal output voltage waveform.Furthermore, the thesis discusses the control request realization of UPFC in SVPWM arithmetic preliminarily, and analyses the realization method of the system control requirements, proves the reasonable sides of UPFC controlled by SVPWM. It can suffice the request as following, the output voltage is continuously adjustable and its control system should master in real time. And the research of it establishes the foundation of improving the performance of UPFC.
