Web service is a brand new technology which is designed to support interaction among applications. By introducing web service technology, sharing of application functionality and business process among business organizations are better supported in e-business over the Internet. Web services are essentially network accessible applic ations and business processes published by organizations that can be used by other business organizations and thus be distributed applications. Web services technology has already provides a series of methods to describe, publish, find, bind and invoke web services. However, there remains much research to make the Web services cornp- lately support the e-business and enterprise application integration, such as the technologies in connection with business events and rules among organizations. The thesis focus on add the concepts and techniques of the business events and corresponding rules to a Web service model on the server side. Based on methods of code generation, we have discussed on the development of the tools and techniques to generate web service wrappers and the methods of integrating Web services and ETR technology. Firstly a service provider is allowed to conveniently choose the operations he wishes to expose and the events needed to install. Then, based on data inputs, a service wrapper is generated to finish the wrapping and posting of the operations and events installed. Meanwhile, the service description WSDL documents of the selected services including interface and implementation are generated and then set in the proper directory. Thus the wrappers will be deployed as practical web services. Finally, when the clients request to invoke a service operation, the corresponding methods in the wrapper will be invoked to post events in connection with the operation and then any required rules will be triggered to realize interaction.
