Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is an advanced form of Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC). The advantage of RFID is that it can read data without physical contact, and it solves the problem of the last-ten-metre auto data entry. The AIDC of data completes the work of gathering original data. As a technology of AIDC, RFID solves the problems of low speed, high rate of error code, hard and repetitive works that exist in manual data entry , and it also provides an efficient means for computerizing in quick and accurate data entry. In Chain-Supermarket, the rate of goods turnover is extremely significant. As RFID is introduced into Chain-Supermarket, it can improve the efficiency of inventory management, allocate and dispatch management, supply chain management and sales management, and it brings convenience in tracking goods.Firstly, this article introduces several kinds of common AIDC technologies and discusses the differences between them in detail. Then it discusses the composition, the classification, the characteristic and the principle of RFID system. Further more, it analyzes some mechanismes and its algorithm of anti-collision, and improves the algorithm of anti-collision.Secondly, based on the former study of RFID technology, a scheme of RFID-based material tracking is designed. The method and the apparatus needed in achieving this scheme were described detailedly. The schema has the character of broad application scope, which is especially applied in the logistics of the retail and manufacturing industry. Finally, as a demonstrative application of the scheme, in this paper, the scheme of the RFID-based goods tracking is applied in Chain-Supermarket, and builds a RFID-based Chain-Supermarket system which has demonstration significance and application value. This system emphasizes the new characteristics after introducing the RFID into Chain-Supermarket. Certainly, it can also complete the conventional functions of inquiring goods information, inventory information and sales information. In the end, this paper proposes the forecast of RFID-based goods tracking scheme.
