Trunked communication system is a private mobile system, which is used for commanding and dispatching. It features in sharing all the channels of the system by all the consumers and selecting the channel automatically. As the digital times is coming, many function of the former analog trunked system can't satisfy the demand of people, it is necessary for us to research our own digital trunked system. I am responsible for the design and development of ARM hardware platform for the base station control, which is a part of the TETRA digital trunked experiment system that is under research in the Communication Research Center of Harbin Inistitute of Technology.In the mobile communication system, base station is an important device connecting with the mobile device and exchange-center separately, it is in charge of the protocol deal, function control and transfer. The design of it is a very important part. Based on the control feather and the demand of base station exchanging data with exchange-center through Ethernet, in this article the embedded ARM9 is taken as the core CPU to build the ARM hardware platform, and embedded Linux as the Operation System, which is convenient for controlling and the development of software.In the first chapter, this article introduces the concept, feather and development of digital trunked mobile communication system, simply analyzes the technique features of several international popular digital trunked system currently, then introduces the development situation of embedded system, and the reason of choosing embedded system as the core is given. Then the MAC layer protocol function of this digital trunked system is introduced particularly, and the PDU structure and content of MAC layer is described. The third chapter presents the full structure of the system hardware platform. The features of embedded ARM and the hardware circuit of every module are particularly analyzed. Finally, the features of embedded Linux system is introduced, for the software platform of the linux OS, the modification and compilation of the U-Boot and Linux kernel, the building of ramdisk and the porting embedded linux are all analyzed...
