As the improvement and development of the society, people keep seeking for life with high quality. They don't like working on simple and dull tasks. So the domestic robots which can do some simple work instead of human being as well as communicating simply with people have become more and more popular. Now it has become another area which arouses great research interest after the industrial robot.It calls for a friendly and maneuverable man-machine interaction method supplying for domestic robots' users-the general people. Recently, as mobile communication technology develops fast and mobile phone diffusion rate ascend year by year, synchronously the data transmission service including Internet business expands ceaselessly, computers as internet terminal are not exclusive. The portable mobile devices, such as handsets, have become the most important and general terminals. The combination of mobile communication technology and Internet provided stable and convenient controlling means.The purpose of our research is to build up the system of domestic robot's telemonitoring which is based on the network of mobile telecommunication. With the co-effection of China mobile corporation's short message service,data transmission and wireless connecting Internet service, this system can achieve long-distance control for the domestic robot.In this paper, the overall conceptual design of domestic robot's remote monitoring system was introduced. The design chooses short message service and GPRS together to implement telemonitoring after has analyzed their characters.The mobile terminal hardware structure is designed based on C8051F020 chip and GM47r5 GPRS module. In this paper, mobile terminal's hardware design method and correlative details of circuit implement, including chip selection, power supply, GPRS module interface circuit, camera module interface circuit and SPI0 bus expand UART circuit were introduced.The software of mobile terminal was designed also.
