The Study On Generating Revivification Technique For Outline Chinese Characters

Aimed at some problem of generating revivification technique for outline Chinese characters, and mainly discussing the hinting technique in this thesis,the author's work are summarized as follows:(1) By studying the generating revivification technique ,it is analyzed that the character quality formed out of generating revivification for outline Chinese characters, that is the distortion of the small characters, and then , the technique and method of using hinting technique to solve the problem of character quality caused by the generating revivification are proposed.(2) A description technique of outline Chinese characters is studied and designed. By analyzing the hinting of some popular western characters, have been designed the hinting of outline Chinese characters according to Type 1 and the black and white hinting of the expansion for complex characters outline. These designs can express the basic hinting that is needful for the outline Chinese characters effectively, and also syncretize some strongpoints of the hinting of western characters.(3) A generating technique of hinting for outline Chinese character based on stroke separating and the black and white hinting is designed. This technique can complete the auto-hinting hint generation which based on the three times Bezier description of character outline, and the hinting, generated by this technique can fulfil the desire of generating revivification for characters in the applied system.(4) By analyzing the characteristics of the grid-fitting for outline Chinese characters, and according to the different applied demands, the aim and method of the grid-fitting for outline Chinese characters are proposed. The grid-fitting algorithm under hinting is designed. In fact, the trait of outline Chinese characters is considered, so the grid-fitting process can be done effectively.(5) A high-quality high-speed scan conversion algorithm for outline characters is designed, the high-quality for outline character can be got, and also the flexibility and the expansibility. A high-speed scan-convension algorithm which is specialized for the description of outline characters, has solved the speed bottleneck generated by revivification effectively.(6) The main results of this thesis have been used in practice, and the main technique problems in practice have been solved.
