This paper analyses several technologies of optical multiplexing, including Optical Wavelength Division Multiplexing(WDM), Optical Time Diyision Multiplexing (OTDM), Optical Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), Optical Sub-carrier Multiplexing(OSCM) and Optical Code Division Multiple Access(OCDMA). The concepts, their some application conditions and general operation principle of multiplexing technologies are presented respectively. Especially, it discusses WDM and OCDMA. The implement principle advantages and shortcomings and characteristic of technologies are described by comparison between WDM and OCDMA technology. Each user occupancies a different wavelength in WDM system, because the number of wavelength is limited, the number of total user will be limited too.
