The traditional detecting missing holes on Auto-Carling is carried on through a artificial way. Mainly, the workers detect the missing holes through compared Auto-Carling with the standard AutoCAD blueprint and use micrometer calipers to measure the positions of holes. The traditional method completely depends on the workers and is inefficiency. This paper mainly introduced an automatic measurement of missing holes on the Auto-Carling. The basic technique used in this measurement is image processing.Firstly, the basic knowledge about image processing and Auto-Carling was introduced. After a deep analysis on how to use an image processing system to detect the missing holes on Auto-Carling, we design the whole system combined with the actual conditions of Auto-Carling. Afterwards we expound the whole system's hardware and software particularly. And then, we introduced the general functions for the system's hardware and software. Analyzed these general functions, we introduce the modules of the system's hardware and software and the theory to design these modules. This paper had an emphasis on the algorithm of image processing. The measurement to confirm the area to image processing, edge detection, randomized Hough transform to circle detecting were detailed explains. Finally, this paper introduced the system running status in laboratory and in factory, detailed analyzed measuring data and summarized problems encountered in field. At last, this paper summarized the study and pointed out the development of detecting missing holes on Auto-Carling in future.
